Light...it's all about light...and darkness.

Matthew 5:14.   Jesus said:   "You are the light of the world." We aren't called to hide.   We aren't called to go with the crowd.   We are called to shine. Jesus said...shine... He did not say to fit in. John 15:18 "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first." You see, when you turn on a light darkness hides.  Truth is, people don't like hearing the truth when it comes to pointing out something that we need to work on.   I don't.   Do you? Darkness is sin.   Darkness is disobedience.  Darkness likes to stay in the dark.   Darkness is staying around those who agree with you.    If you have "light" people who are in the dark don't wanna hang out with you.   Fact I have to admit I have been both.   Darkness and light.   I have gone along with the crowd many times.   Or been in conversation that was just plain gossip....

"From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, the Lord's name is to be praised." — Psalm 113:3  This verse in the book of Psalm no one really knows who wrote.  I find that interesting. I found this: Purpose of this verse: Universal Praise: It serves as a mandate to praise God everywhere (from East to West) and at all times (from morning to night). Celebrating God's Character: The psalm highlights God’s greatness in raising the poor and needy from the dust. Context: It was likely sung by Jesus and his disciples at the Last Supper. I think it is super interesting that it was possibly sung by Jesus at this Last Supper!    A verse written in the Old Testament and HE was singing it!!!    I mean He was singing to His Father and teaching us that we should sing it/do it for Him! Think of the sun—a faithful, consistent start to a new day, and a beautiful close to it.  Call me old....that is ok. I am getting older AND that is something to...

You model...they mirror

Hi and Happy Thursday! Today Deuteronomy 6:6-7 "And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up." Now, when I first read this I was a little thrown off by the language.   The "shalt" and the "st" words.   But, I dug a little deeper and looked up who wrote this and what was going on and what it can teach me now. * Fifth book of the bible * Moses wrote it * Moses was talking to a "new generation". (that sounds familiar...guess it always will...even when you are older and saying 'these kids today'" * He was giving a passionate speech to them and he encourage the people to love God and to let others see Him in them. Take away: What you model...those watching you will mirror. The good and the bad.   This could be your...
