Honoring God at work…or everywhere!

Image
Hi girls!   I love you all.   So, I had a blog ready to go for you several days ago.   However, I decided to put that one on hold.   Why?   Well,  my conviction of doing the very things I was reading from the scriptures was so in my face I am having to ask for forgiveness!    Ever feel so convicted?   Anyway.  I am putting that blog on hold and I’ll report back after God does some more work on me!   As hard as He works the devil sure does hate it and goes into overdrive.  I ran across this great reminder and thought I would share for our reflection this week!    Hope it speaks to you!   It definitely spoke to me.     As I think of my career…I remember that the last weeks of school co-workers and students were very negative.   I literally wore a sticker on my shirt during testing days that said “If you do not have something nice to stay do not speak to me.”    People thought it was funny b...

Mirror, mirror on the wall.

Once upon a time I was told by a wise person about "mirrors".   Some of you know this.   I have shared about a time in my life that I didn't have the nicest words to say about relationships in my life.   My counselor told me whenever you have the ugly thought come into your head...don't say it outloud.   Take a look in the mirror.    YOU are not without flaws.   YOU are not without sin.   Get it together girl! And of course we all know the saying..."If you do not have something nice to say, don't say anything at all!. I found this reflection... We are all mirrors reflecting something to people around us.   When we walk in love, kindness, patience, and humility, people can catch a glimpse of Christ in us. But when we criticize, gossip, or speak harshly about others, the reflection becomes distorted. Before pointing out flaws in someone else, we should first look into our own mirror and ask God to reveal wh...

Light...it's all about light...and darkness.

Matthew 5:14.   Jesus said:   "You are the light of the world." We aren't called to hide.   We aren't called to go with the crowd.   We are called to shine. Jesus said...shine... He did not say to fit in. John 15:18 "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first." You see, when you turn on a light darkness hides.  Truth is, people don't like hearing the truth when it comes to pointing out something that we need to work on.   I don't.   Do you? Darkness is sin.   Darkness is disobedience.  Darkness likes to stay in the dark.   Darkness is staying around those who agree with you.    If you have "light" people who are in the dark don't wanna hang out with you.   Fact I have to admit I have been both.   Darkness and light.   I have gone along with the crowd many times.   Or been in conversation that was just plain gossip....

From the time you wake til the time you rest!

"From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, the Lord's name is to be praised." — Psalm 113:3  This verse in the book of Psalm no one really knows who wrote.  I find that interesting. I found this: Purpose of this verse: Universal Praise: It serves as a mandate to praise God everywhere (from East to West) and at all times (from morning to night). Celebrating God's Character: The psalm highlights God’s greatness in raising the poor and needy from the dust. Context: It was likely sung by Jesus and his disciples at the Last Supper. I think it is super interesting that it was possibly sung by Jesus at this Last Supper!    A verse written in the Old Testament and HE was singing it!!!    I mean He was singing to His Father and teaching us that we should sing it/do it for Him! Think of the sun—a faithful, consistent start to a new day, and a beautiful close to it.  Call me old....that is ok. I am getting older AND that is something to...
